If the front cluster is lined up properly, the dummy shaft will come out the front as the real shaft goes in. Back out these bolts until they clear the threads in the bell housing (do not remove them completely), hold the starter together as you remove it or it will come apart in. There are just 2 bolts that hold the starter to the engine, then there is the battery cable and the starter solenoid leads, take note of where the wires go before removing them.
